Stanfield & O’Dell, P.C., offers a wide variety of employee benefits. The following is an overview of our employee benefits package.
Group Health Care Insurance
Our group health care insurance program provides you with a wide range of benefits including benefits for hospital, accident, maternity, obstetrical, and other covered charges. The coverage may become effective on the first day of the calendar month following 30 days of regular employment. The firm pays the entire employee coverage cost of the plan. Group health insurance is available for employees’ spouses and children. Monthly premiums for dependent coverage may be deducted from your regular paycheck.
Also included in the group health care insurance program is a dental plan. Dental coverage includes preventative, primary and restorative services. Deductibles are as follows: 100 percent benefit on preventative with a $-0- deductible; primary and restorative services are subject to a $50 deductible with 80% benefit on primary services and 50% benefit on restorative services. There is a $1,250 annual maximum on dental services. The firm pays the cost of the dental insurance for employee coverage.
The group health care benefit summary outlined above does not contain a complete list of benefits available to you, nor does it contain a listing of exclusions, limitations and conditions that apply to the benefits.
Group Life Insurance
The firm makes available to you basic life insurance coverage that becomes effective on the first day of the calendar month following six full months of full-time, regular employment. The amount of coverage provided is three times your annual salary. Increased coverage automatically will be provided effective at the policy anniversary date following compensation changes. The premium for this coverage is paid entirely by the firm.
Accidental Death and Dismemberment Coverage
Accidental death and dismemberment insurance coverage is provided through the basic insurance plan. The amount of insurance is equal to the amount of basic life coverage. This benefit is paid in addition to the basic insurance benefit in case of an accidental death or dismemberment. The premium for this coverage is paid entirely by the firm.
Dependent Life Insurance
Life insurance coverage on your spouse is provided through the basic insurance plan. This coverage begins at the same time as your personal coverage. The amount of insurance is the lesser of 25% of your term life insurance or $20,000. Coverage for dependent children under six months is $400. Coverage for dependent children six months to 21 years is $4,000. The premium for this coverage is paid entirely by the firm.
401(k) Profit Sharing Plan
Stanfield & O’Dell, P.C., has a Section 401(k) retirement plan that is designed to provide supplemental retirement benefits to career employees. Employees are eligible to participate in the 401(k) plan beginning the first day of the quarter after completing 3 months of employment, if you are 21 years of age and have worked at least 500 hours immediately preceding the entrance date. You may contribute up to 100% of your compensation, but not exceeding limits established by the Internal Revenue Code. The firm contributes 25% of your contribution to the plan to the extent that your contribution does not exceed 10% of your annual compensation.
Section 125 Plan (or Cafeteria Plan)
The firm has established an IRC Section 125, Cafeteria Plan that is designed to allow our personnel to elect to pay for certain benefits with pretax dollars. The dependent medical premium and childcare are the two elective benefits that are available through the cafeteria plan. The income tax and social security tax savings may be significant for those employees who are able to use the maximum benefit of the cafeteria plan.
Credit Union Privileges
Employees of the firm are eligible for membership in a local credit union. The credit union offers a wide range of service. The firm will withhold savings or loan payments for your convenience.

Flexible Work Hours
The firm is flexible in designing work hours and other arrangements in order to accommodate a staff member’s other responsibilities or preferences. While we work together to meet excellent client service standards, we also value personal, “quality of life” times for staff and families.
CPA Exam Reimbursement Program
The firm will provide paid time off for exam testing. Upon successful completion of all four parts of the exam within two years of becoming eligible to sit for the exam, the firm will reimburse the employee 100% of the cost of self-study materials, including review courses as well as the actual cost of sitting for the examination. In addition, the firm will pay a cash bonus of $1,000. We believe the successful passing of the exam is an integral part of each employee's professional development.
Recruitment Bonus Program
We strongly believe our employees are an excellent resource to successfully recruiting qualified individuals to work at S&O. The Employee Bonus Program provides a financial incentive to eligible employees who successfully assist in the recruitment of experienced professionals. Accordingly, if an employee of S&O introduces a potential employee to SUO and that person is hired by the firm, we will pay a bonus to the employee responsible for the introduction.
Travel Bonus
Travel bonus is based on the number of nights incurred for overnight client travel. Overnight CPE travel or other non-chargeable travel is not included in the travel bonus calculation. The travel bonus will be paid on the 15th of the month following the end of each quarter (April 15th, July 15th, October 15th and January 15th).
